From what I have tried over the last few days, this issue has been caused by Microsoft Office confusing my Project license a key with my company’s O license which does not have Project included.

Even though my Project key is valid on its own, Project is failing to launch because my O does not have Project. This wasn’t a problem last week – it just started happening when Microsoft pushed out a O update. To make matters worse, I have tried to completely dis-associate with my company’s O and just use my Office key instead – and it refuses to do it! It’s like Hotel California! I’ve tried in no particular order uninstalling, re-installing, quick repair, full repair, change license, manage account, change account
